Who amongst the collecting community that visits here has a printing background? The thing that struck me about the 1903 Burgundy or crimson catalog that helped me conclude it was original, was the gold sheen the cover has When viewed from low angle. Gold was used in making deep red pigments for many years until newer less costly minerals/metals were found. Just as it was for deep blues from Cobalt. I expect the greens were copper based. I no longer have access to a x-ray fluorescence analyzer. Perhaps someone in our community does.
