at the moment

what would be your dream gun of choice....mine would be a 4 ga double barrel..... charlie

Mills Morrison 04-05-2012 01:30 PM

I'll take an 8 gauge Parker hammerless with Damascus barrels

King Brown 04-05-2012 01:47 PM

It's not a dream gun, charlie, but I intend to make it one by shooting geese, ducks, grouse with it next season. I shoot it well but haven't used it on grouse and geese. That would turn my 16ga hammer 0 frame 1889 double Parker into a dream gun for me. The truth of it is that dreams change as everything else. I now look to lighter guns with a history in my dreams.

My Parker "dream gun" would be my old 8 pound VH 32" 20 gauge serial number 153,333 that I foolishly sold many years ago.

Mills Morrison 04-05-2012 04:23 PM

Dreaming aside, my favorite gun of all time is my Parker Trojan 20 gauge that my wife gave me as a wedding present. It takes down quail like nobody's business.

Allways wanted a vhe.. 28ga with 30" barrels and an English style stock at 15" LOP.
I shot my uncles gun when I was a boy..now owned by one of my cousins.

I hope to pick up one of my dream guns at the Southern the end of this month. If money were no object and as we are dreaming I'd like a matched pair of David McKay Brown round action SXS in 28ga. Both guns with 30 inch barrels, straight stock, 15" LOP. One set choked SKt/IC the other M/IM.

A dream realized is no longer a dream.

Mills Morrison 04-05-2012 08:39 PM

On my wife's and my annual quail hunt in South Georgia last year, one of the other guests had a David McKay Brown. What amazing engraving!

A tangent on charlie's dream gun: I wonder to what extent high-end embellishments turn dream guns into closet guns, adornments that seriously limit their uses afield, shadows of memories, not the real thing? A gun not used is an affectation to me. Exceptions for collectors and investments but even they're tacking away from a dream! Apologies.

King I have gone through that to nice to use phase with some NIB Winchester M70's and a couple of Parker Repo's. If I can't use it I don't want it. An A1 special was built to be used and if I owned one I'd use it.
