Good afternoon all. Just joined the PGCA as a new member. Have scouted around the forum before. Had been looking for a Parker shotgun for a while now primarily for pheasant hunting. Purchased one a couple weeks ago. A 16 ga, built in the late 30s, D grade, 28" barrels choked IM and F. I like a little more drop at the heel and this one was at 2 11/16". I am sure I will have questions and will try to get them in the correct forum area.

Welcome

Thanks for the welcome. I like your avatar. Mine is Samantha now seven years old and my fifth Lab. All have been black and female. She is from South Dakota stock from a hunting friend of mine who has been raising hunting Labs for over 30 years now. Picture is from November 2026 hunt in South Dakota.

Welcome aboard Ray. You mentioned some questions you might have, we all do. Post some pics and this crowd can most likely help you.

Welcome Ray! As you said, you've been scouting around the forum so you know the addiction you're getting yourself into - this is a great bunch of guys and a few girls as well.

Let's see some pics of your D-sixteen.

I like the "D"grade and the sixteen. Good choice.

That DH 16 will make a great South Dakota pheasant gun. I hunt SD each January generally carrying a 16.

Thanks. I am a fan of 16 ga. For sporting clays I have a Browning 525 in 16 ga and a few others for hunting. I really only had my sight set on one Parker and that was a D grade 16 ga. Probably why it took me a while to find one and also one that fit me.

It will be with me the second and third week of November. First week will be in Minnesota and the second week in South Dakota. I really want to get some shells loaded with #4s or 5s. Order a couple boxes of #6 from RST. I talked to them on the phone a couple of time and they are loading other shotshells right now. Hope they get to some of their out of stock 16 ga before hunting season starts.
