A G marked Hammerless gun?
Any chance that I have a mismatched gun and barrel set?
The serial number dates to 1896 The receiver is marked size 2, and the letter grade of G The barrels are hammerless, marked on the rib "Parker Bros Makers, Meriden Conn Damascus Steel" . I assume they should be exposed hammer barrels? |

No not at all look on the left side of the barrel lug and the serial numbers should match. Hammerless Parker guns had Damascus barrels into the early 20th century. Yours is a Grade 2 or"G" grade 1 frame gun made in the mid 1890s

Looks like a perfect match to me. Damascus barrels on that gun are standard issue.

Thanks. I have only see GH for hammerless, so I needed to check.
I appreciate the responses. |

Here is one for reference.

The 2 on the watertable is the Grade. Grade 2, Quality GH. The H usually not included on the watertable in that serial number era. Frame size 1 stamped on the bottom of the barrel lug.
