Lefever shells for 20Ga. Low Pressure?
So I have a 20Ga Lefever that I have never shot.. looks and feels tight and I know it's a 2.5" shell length.. Any good advise on shells to put through it for
1: skeet and 2:dove 3: Fall pheasants? Thank you for your time Robert |
RST’s.

That's simple... I'll give em a try.. Thanks Steiner

You should also have a competent double gun smith give it a once over to be sure it’s safe to shoot.

What grade is it? Assume it's a Durstan Special, which is the most common Lefever seen in 20 ga. They , of course,, have fluid steel barrels. As an alternative to RSTs, you could reload low pressure 20 ga shells with 3/4 oz. Very mild recoil, and effective on grouse, quail, etc.
I've had two DS Lefevers, and that's what I shot thru them. Low pressure 7/8 oz are nice also. |

Well, Dugger? At a minimum tells us what it is. |
Hey there.. So I dropped this thread... apologies...
It's an E grade from my understanding.. |
I just took delivery today of 7 flats of 20 gauge, 2 1/2" Low pressure Armusa Classico's in 8, 71/2 and 6's with 6% antimony lead. Pressure is stated at 6600psi. Also got 5 flats 0f 2 1/2" 16's in the same shot sizes. Some of these were ordered in March and the container finally arrived earlier this month. Shipping cost's $10.00/Flat.
In Contrast, last week I took delivery of 6 Flats of RST in 20, 16, and 12 and was charged $180.00 in shipping. They must have heard me bitch, cuz I was refunded $20.00 today with no explanation. No issues with RST other than availability (not unique to them) and shipping cost. Their ammo goes bang like god intended. And I know they have a presence at the east coast events where you can avoid the shipping charges. But.... I live in NW Washington state. Couldn't be further from Florida (the distributer for Armusa), still $10.00 flat. Give Mr. Andres Montoya a call at (608) 208-6800 and tell him John White sent you. |

Time out. You can get a flat of RST’s, 10 boxes, to Washington for $10.00 in shipping? It costs me at least 25, usually 30, to get them to the greater Cleveland Ohio area…. |
No sir, Armusa ammo is $165.00 for a flat of 20 gauge 2 1/2” low pressure shells plus $10.00 / flat. ($175.00)
RST 2 1/2” Falcons in 20 gauge cost $200.00 for a flat and shipping to my door in WA is $30.13 for 1 flat. (230.13) I use both, because…. Availability. I shoot more Armusa and tend to hoard the RST. |
