Anyone heard of this being done by Parker
5 Attachment(s)
Here is something that I have never heard being done by Parker. The seller of this very late G grade gun says in his description
“In the early 20th century as gunmakers were transitioning from Damascus to steel barrels there were buyers who still appreciated the beauty of the Damascus pattern. Parker, in an effort to supply those discriminating buyers, acid etched some of the new Titanic steel barrels with a beautiful Damascus pattern. This was mostly cosmetic and market driven. This gun is an excellent example of that effort.” I have included some pictures from his ad showing Damascus barrels marked as Titanic. Has anyone heard of this being done? |
I love the serial number. If "the book" was a lot thicker, it still wouldn't be in there. The NITRO PROOF is a nice touch too.

Titanic fake.:nono:

This guy really has an active imagination that could be dangerous to the potential buyer.
|
Sort of curious to me the correct serial Number is absent. For conversation purposes is there a number on the barrel lug?
|
No - Neither Parker Brothers nor Remington Arms would have done this to misrepresent a Parker shotgun to be other than that which had been produced by their manufactories.
Further, federal law prohibits altering a gun’s serial number. . |
So, "I want you to buy this gun, but in case you're leery of Damascus barrels, these aren't, they're just made to look like them"? OK; got it.

Here's another brilliant seller. We've all seen imports being passed off as a Parker, But this guy puts a new twist on it. He's selling a Parker, as a Belgian import.
