tightgroup pressure tests for 2.5" 16 gauge and 2-7/8" 10 gauge

Posting my pressure test results for tightgroup since there was no load data to be found when I was looking. Since this is what I have been able to get for a somewhat reasonable price in the northwest.

16 gauge 2.5" cheddite 1 oz: looks like 14 grains is about where I want my loads.

10 gauge 2-7/8" cheddite 1-1/8 oz: My max test was 16 grains, Based on results looks like I could go up 17-18 grains easily

Hope it helps out
Scott

Thank you for posting your results, it's good to see a Short Ten load using currently available components. I agree, I would increase the powder charge to 17.5 or 18 to get the velocity closer to 1200 fps.

That pressure for the 16 seems higher than I like Scott. I use a longshot load that is 1200fps and around 6500 for pressure I think. I only have one Damascus Parker and that's the one I'm most concerned about. I'll keep these if I ever get a 10g though, thank you.

You could probably drop down to 13g in that 16g load and have less pressure and still remain in the mid 1100 FPS range. That should be a nice shooting shell.
