Cat's In the Cradle - Old Guns with my Little Buddy

As the song goes, when our children grow up and begin their adult lives in earnest, it can be hard to find the time. My son and I recently were able to coordinate a hunt together for the first time this year. He is finishing his residency here in South Dakota, he just got married prior to Christmas, and is interviewing for jobs, busy guy. Therefore, this day was special for a number of reasons.

Oh yes, the guns are a zero-frame 16 gauge T/A and zero-frame, lightened 20 gauge T/A. BTW, first birds with the 20.

I know how special that was for you, Dean. Glad to see you got photos to help remember. I notice Oz is very attentive to his man, and I know he’ll be a part of this memory along with those beautiful guns. You’re doing it with style, my friend.

Very good memories Dean,

I'm enjoying each and every hunt with my only son that I can, he's 19 and growing up way too fast. Oh well, I guess we wouldn't have it any other way.

Now, those fine guns, WOW!

I assume the D grade is the 16? They both look like special guns.

Stan, seems like yesterday he was 9 following me all over Alaska on many adventures. He does his own backpack hunts now and tells me I should stay back...They grow up way too fast.

The D grade is 20 gauge. I have posted about it prior but this is its first hunt with me.

Best

My son is fifty-six. He has grown children. He is married and has a great job that he has been working at for decades. He says he is planning to retire. Life goes by. My only son is happy and healthy and successful. What more can a guy want.

Oh, I have never given him a dime. He is far more wealthy than I am, and I'm doing okay.

What more can a guy want? Nothing…but another Parker would be okay :)

BTW Congratulations :fg:
