Frame Size for Parker DHE

I am looking at a DHE serial 221368. I dont think it is in the book, I will be picking it up in about a week. I looked at it today, and on the barrel lump, it has a 1 and then what looks like a small 1/2. This gun I think was made in the 20's. Would this be correct? So, is the 1 1/2 frame very rare?
Thanks

The answer to your question is the 1 1/2 frame is a fairly common 12ga frame size.

I think Parker Bros. initiated the 1 1/2 frame size right around the turn of the century or very shortly thereafter. I had a 1903 GH with a 1 1/2 frame size.

Maybe earlier? My GH is a 1 1/2 frame made in 1895.

You're obviously right. I'll have to consult The Parker Story to see when the 1 1/2 frame size was introduced.

I've just finished reading about frame sizes (again) beginning on page 527 and TPS confirms that the 1 1/2 frame was introduced around 1900 but that.... now get this.... a DH made in 1898 is known to have been built on the 1 1/2 frame.

Frank, you may well have the earliest known 1 1/2 frame Parker hammerless.
The markings on the barrel flats should be consistent with the era as well as the complete rib legend to confirm this.

There is a 1-1/2 frame gun advertised on Gunbroker that has 82628 serial which would also be an 1895 gun. I am not connected to the gun or seller and have no interest in buying the gun.

Frank, there's no question those barrels are 'the real deal'.
I'm looking forward to seeing your GH at Addieville.
