Guyette and Deeter

Is anyone planning to go down, over, up to the auction? I have an event in Virginia Friday through Sunday but am considering driving over Tuesday, going to the preview Wednesday and leaving late afternoon Thursday. Maybe we could put together a shoot for Wednesday morning.
Dan

They'll have to thaw out the trap machines.

Consider shooting at Pintail Point Wednesday morning and coming over for our preview. The office is open all day with the cocktail hour starting around 4pm.

Dean Romig 02-09-2026 04:23 PM

I really like Pintail Point. Last time I was there was about 10-12 years ago.

I’ve done Pintail Point I think five times in the last few years and enjoyed it . There’s also Schraders and Hopkins but they’re more oughtta the way .

Chuck Bishop 02-09-2026 06:45 PM

Thinking about it. Depends on my health.

Buddy Marson 02-09-2026 07:58 PM

Josh,
I am planning on coming up on Wednesday. Where is the viewing on that day?
Thanks,
Buddy

Has anyone received their G&D catalog as of 2-10?

I received mine yesterday in Ohio. Another beautiful catalog.

Josh Loewensteiner 02-10-2026 02:08 PM

Received in Charlotte, NC yesterday.

Mike Koneski 02-10-2026 02:31 PM

Mine also arrived yesterday.

Clark McCombe 02-10-2026 06:13 PM

The catalogue itself is a treasure.

Well, sir, we'll do without molasses. Anything from Missouri has a taint about it."

Now that I think of it, this is the same thing Elaine says about me. I keep reminding her that I’m originally from Virginia.

Bill Murphy 02-12-2026 02:48 PM

Got my catalog Feb.12, Thursday. Thanks, Josh. Maybe I can use it this year. I'll see you or Wes in a few days. Murphy

What was the movie? Was it The Outlaw Josey Wales?

I seem to remember some mention of Missouri in it.

Yes Sir. One of my all time favorites.

Clint Eastwood continues to be a genius.

Those not from here just don’t have a clue . But really wherever you originally called home nothing ever matches it in some ways .

He isn’t bad but in my eye he pales in comparison to “The Duke” And Jimmy Stewart and Randolph Scott (another Virginian born and raised in the county I also was born and raised).

Clark McCombe 02-14-2026 09:04 AM

Eastwood is in front and behind the camera as director.
I think that’s what sets him apart.

Daryl Corona 02-14-2026 09:34 AM

Let's not forget Dirty Harry and what he did for M29 sales. I became really close with my local gun store owner and had one within a week of seeing the movie. As far as great westerns, all Clint's spaghetti westerns were classic but Unforgiven was in a class all by itself. That and Open Range were two of the best IMHO.

Mike Koneski 02-14-2026 09:47 AM

Don’t forget “Get off my lawn!”

Daryl Corona 02-14-2026 10:00 AM

I couldn't tell you of any bad Eastwood films.

I was always partial to “right hand turn Clyde” :rotf:

Go figure. That was a pretty good flick.

Thumbing through my new catalog (it was stuffed gently into my mailbox along with 12 days of mail) this afternoon. I see that a lot of the high end Parkers are familiar to some of us, having seen and possibly handled several of them in the last 10-15 years… I guess you have to have been in this “Parker thing” a good many years for this to happen…
But it’s good to see them again and appreciate their beauty more fully through the amazing photography of Guyette & Deeter. We owe the staff at G&D a huge thank-you for showcasing these fine guns like they do. Thanks All !!
