Her you go Tracy - this is a picture of the floorplate of a gorgeous AAHE (16 ga. I believe) that I took in Del Grego's shop sometime in the early 1990s. The gun lay on a bed in an unused room in a relative of the original owner's home I believe in CA or AZ. The roof developed a leak and water came down on the barrels about 6 inches forward of the forend. Luckily no other parts of the gun were exposed. The pitting on the underside of the barrels was all surface, not that deep but in about an 8 inch swath between the forend and the muzzle. Del Grego's were able to lightly restrike, polish and reblue the barrels in the original rust bluing process, and they came out looking great. In addition to the doves on the floorplate, the gun had a Gambel's quail on the right side of the receiver and a different species of quail on the left which I could not identify. It was one of the most beautifully engraved Parkers I ever saw and I can still picture it in my mind today.

Thanks for all the great doves. Saw about a hundred doves in our sunflower field this afternoon. Late season doves are my favorite. Thanks Tracy Pellett

This 32-inch, 20-gauge, BHE, with a dove on the left side was said to have been owned by Clark Gable when it was left at our PGCA booth at an Orvis Sandanona Vintage Cup years ago.
Attachment 130796 Sorry about my poor quality picture. When this gun was made Mr. Gable was selling neckties at Meier & Frank in Portland, Oregon. He may have owned it later in life. |

Here’s what I believe to be a dove on an ‘07 AAHE 12. This one with other custom ordered features and damascus barrels.
If someone would please rotate the photo or explain how to, I’d appreciate it. Thanks. |

Don't bother to watch for my obituary. I don't have any guns like those.

I'm a little late to this party. Here is an ICD Superlative 28 GA with Doves.

That is just gorgeous, Bob.
Doves quicken my pulse . . . . to say the least. Actually, they haunt my dreams. My pastor, who is a longtime dove shooting buddy of mine, mentioned last Sunday before the sermon, as he was asking who in the congregation had birthdays in June, that it was only a little over two months until dove season. My kind of preacher! |
A bit off the trail here, so forgive me. We once had a preacher who loved squirrel hunting as much as my Pop (a Deacon) and I. Every now and then he’d go on a Fall Saturday afternoon…when, he said, his sermon was written. Big stuff for a 7 year old.
