Table cloth
Did the Parker Gun Collectors Association ever offer a Table Cloth with the Parker logo(patch) for sale? I am looking for one that fits the standard 8 foot table at gun shows. I figured the Association might have offered a Table cloth through the years when members were displaying their Parkers at different events. I plan on setting up a table of small bore Parkers at the O.G.C.A annual display show one of these days and thought a Parker Table cloth would add a nice touch to the exhibit. I probably will have to make my own as I want either Hunter green or Burgundy cloth.

The PGCA had a dozen or so special table cloths made for special events and they were VERY expensive but never offered them for sale, and I’ve never heard any rumblings about having some less expensive ones made for sale.

John this is the style of table cloth used by the PGCA, as Dean stated I do not recall them ever being offered for sale. If and when you get ready to display at the OGCA get hold of me if you like and I will see what I can do about getting you one to use at the show. The OGCA has a fabulous display show typically, good luck if you do enter.

Wilmington where the show is would be about 90 miles for me so I may just come check out your display. I did attend the last show about 2 weeks ago and unfortunately attendance by spectators and exhibitors was down IMO. Also saw several empty tables which is not the norm for this show.

What are the dates of that March show, John? The OGCA show venue is very close to my family in Columbus, and on my way on my frequent trips to our old homeplace in NE OH. I am assuming it is still at the conference center right off I-71 across from the big R&L Carrier terminal? I'd love to make a trip by there this year.

Dave the March show is scheduled for the 12th & 13th. Glad to see that you are present on the forum again after the storms that ravaged KY.

After taking a direct hit from an EF3 tornado, it's a pleasure to be present anywhere, Randy!!
:rotf: See you in Wilmington! Dave |

Another opportunity for Destry, if the Board would approve a limited production of table cloths (for a fee) I'll bet among the members there is a market.

We have done Pheasant Fest for over 20 years. 23,000 to 30,000 attendees see Parker shotguns and memorabilia. We have stories about it here and in Parker Pages. We are often on local television.
The last time we exhibited was Feb 2020 then the Covid hit. The show was cancelled in 2021. This year the show is in Omaha but with so much Covid again and so much exposure , I do not want to risk it even with vaccinations. We normally present 35 to 45 Parkers of all grades and gauges. We have shown the Czar gun and John Browning’s A grade. We have had Parker rifled barrel guns , short barrels , long barrels, high grade 410’s , the rare ones. We do not sell guns , we only exhibit and promote . We show the yearly raffle gun , sell tickets and have historically been the largest seller of tickets. I miss leading the Parker presentation but with Covid sweeping through again and potentially leaving long lasting effects on health I do not think it wise to be two feet away from large numbers of people masked or unmasked , vaccinated or not , and we know that some people reject any protection . |
Thankyou Bruce for the pictures. I too will miss the Fest. Best to all.

A further comment. This is a PGCA exhibit and we are under the banner of the PGCA. We do not sell guns , we inform and present. We do not low ball people who ask about value of their guns then try to buy them cheap.
We get 30 running feet of booth space and fill it up. I have four 5 gun tiered racks and we fill those and more. Charlie Herzog joined us for many years with his spectacular guns. We have a chosen team of people who are knowledgeable , study TPS and answer lots of questions. We like Pheasant Fest because attendees want to know about the guns and hunting . |
Looks like a nice venue to attend. Does this event come around the Ohio-Maryland-Pennsylvania area? I also noticed that the PGCA must have made up several of these tablecloths for certain events.
|
Pheasant Fest is a Pheasants Forever event that rotates between Sioux Falls, MSP, DSM , Omaha , sometimes Kansas City , Milwaukee , Madison , Chicago area . People come from all over the US . There is no wall running along the Mississippi.
I have exhibited Parkers at the Southern SxS . |
This years Pheasant Fest will be in Omaha Nebraska March 11-13 2022...

It is not only me that I have been concerned about but I feel responsible to those friends and acquaintances that I ask to join as booth presenters. Many are senior citizens and all most are long time personal friends. I do not want to risk their health. |
You are taking the correct approach in my opinion Bruce. Thanks for representing all the past years and I am sure there will be more in the years to come!
|
I agree with Reggie and Bruce. Unless I can have some control over with whom and how I interact with people, I'll stick to hunting with the dogs and wife. No need to risk getting sick, even the "regular" flu under these circumstances. Hopefully things will spike and drop quickly as seems to be the pattern in other places. I thought for sure I'd go to the Pheasant Fest this year, but... Good luck and health to those who do venture to Omaha.

The original question was about tablecloths . I have five of the PGCA tablecloths , all owned by the association. I keep them for Pheasant Fest . I have two Parker banners that I had made , paid for myself and use them on behalf of the association . I do not have a sales table under either . I also have a vinyl tablecloth that Charlie Herzog had made and gave to me when we started.
There are a few other tablecloths owned by the PGCA and stored by trusted individuals for use at events which the board approves a PGCA presence. I have board approval and do not use them without board approval. I do not know current thinking but I know that we did not want what you see with some collector organizations with dubious dealers doing business under collector association banners. |

When Kevin and I were doing the PGCA tables at The Vintage Cup, we had this heavy vinyl or leatherette table cover --
Attachment 103455 I don't know if it was Kevin's or the associations. |

Apparently somebody liked it a whole lot more than we did; it was stolen from my trap and pigeon gun display table in the Parker-LC Smith tent a few years ago. The thieves had very bold and eclectic tastes: the cover shown was under a soft table cover with a plastic tarp on top of both to protect the display from rain, all secured to the table with heavy spring hand clamps. Just to add a dash of variety, person or persons who took it may be the same ones who also stole 17 brand new 40-gallon plastic trash barrels that Bill Kempfer had purchased at WalMart the day before! Caveat exhibitor!! |

I never would have believed that a thread on a table cloth would now be on page 4. If I posted a pic of my A1S 28 gauge I doubt it would be 4 pages!:bigbye:
