Longshot powder?

I see some recipes on the 16g society for low pressure 2 1/2" shells. I just had 8 pounds literally fall into my lap. Any good clays loads to share in 16 and 28g? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mike. When I can get down there to renew my membership and chew the fat.

I have no 16 gauge loads but the Hodgdon manual thing shows a good many for the 20 and 28 . In my powder haul of a week or two ago I think I got 12 pounds of Longshot . So now I have an idea of what it'll be used for

Maybe he thinks I'm bringing him food???

Daryl, John has them posted on this site but I can send them to you. He had them evaluated by Tom Armbrust. I loaded some for hunting and they work well.

I'm a sucker for a good chili dog : ) Send me the load data and maybe I'll stop at that little greasy gas station and grab you one :rotf:

Thank you John. Happen to have any for a 2 1/2" Cheddite? Or can I try this in the Cheddite hull? Pressures looks pretty low.

CraigThompson 01-12-2022 01:18 PM

Since reading this I’ve added another 6-8 pounds of Longshot to my stockpile , also more Herco and Super Handicap . I should hope to live long enough to shoot up all I’ve accumulated in the recent month or so . One things for sure I’m going to work at it :rotf:

Andy, these are the only ones I had and have no idea what the results with 2 1/2" shells might be. Good luck, John

Some one on here had a Longshot load tested with 2.5" cheditte hull and primer , believe it was 21.0grs . IIRC it was around 1200 fps and low pressure .

Found it. But uses a win 209 primer
