VHE 2 bbl set for $3K
|
Cyanide colors for one to answer your question. But for the entry fee, that is not really all that big of a deal.
You gotta love listings like this... only a few photos, none of which are of the second barrel set. And nearly no description. If they presented the gun better, they may hae gotten their original price. |
Not a short stock with the single trigger. Probably 14" to a front trigger if it existed.
|
It wouldn't surprise me at all to learn the serial number might actually be 240784
The gun has a few standard Remingtonesque attributes. . |

The hinge pin has been turned-rotated!

I have been watching that gun. I think for the money it would make a great shooter and hunting gun. They are even open to an offer. Surprised it has not sold.
|
240784 is listed as a 20ga. VHE, 26". Only option was ejectors
|
204784 is on the card. Last picture.

The length of pull makes me think it was converted to a SST from DT.

No pictures show that it is not a Miller trigger, in which case the LOP would be an honest 14" in original double trigger configuration. Where are the pictures of the serial number? It is probably an honest $3000 gun. A Remington or DelGrego case color job. No problem at the asking price.

I tried to post this earlier, but it is not here so I will try again. Maybe it ended up on another thread.
I called today about this gun as I was curious. I spoke to John, very professional. Here is what I learned and may save you a call: 30" barrels not a matching number. Many dents and bores .742 both sides. 26" barrels numbered to the gun, .010 and .015. Both sets ejector and reblued. Stock has been cut, and a replacement Parker butt plate added, but chip in toe of butt plate. Not quality work. Parker single trigger. Floor plate has two screws, one screw with a locking screw. According to The Parker Story, two screws indicate the later improved single trigger. This gun is too old to have had the new Parker trigger installed at the factory when assembled, so I guess it was added later. Wood refinished, obviously recased with cyanide colors. I am always looking to move up and was interested but when I found details I passed. It is a consignment thus the "make an offer." I wrote this from memory from earlier today while driving during the conversation, so I hope I have all of the details. My memory is good on some days.:) |

Not a real two barrel set, unfortunately. Non matching numbers is not the problem. Poor bores and .742 are the problems.
