Would that be an $80 grade Parker?

I love the simple dog engraving

The dog on the left is pointing a running rabbit.

Screw looks like a nine inch centipede crawling out of somebody's ear! Ugh!

I just got the barrels back yesterday.

Note the four different Laminated patterns in the barrel tube segments.

Those are rather bizarre looking barrels. I really wonder if they looked like that when the gun was sitting on the shelf at the factory or at the store. You would think that potential customers would steer clear of that gun. Of course, now it looks very interesting given our collective perspective, exposure and experience.

Larry, judging from some very high condition of Parkers I’ve seen with vivid original composite barrels, I would say the dramatic pattern of these barrels were likely originally close to the same as they are after their recent refinishing.

Pattern-welded barrels were, and still are, highly prized and this is one of the main reasons that so many different formulas of mixing irons and steels were experimented with to finally arrive at truly beautiful patterns.
