Been enjoying seeing the recent posts of your dogs and thought I’d share. Been compiling photos of my hounds for a project I’m doing, more to follow regarding that.
Here’s my old man, Rusty. Turned 14 last month. Still pointing rabbits in the backyard to show me he’s still got game.
Deaf as a post, eyes are clouding, nose works great. Still drags me around the lake each morning on our walks.
And still putting birds in front of the gun.
Hoping to give him another season.
Enjoy your time with them. It’s precious.

Very nice pictures. I especially like the Red Sky pic. Good to know the nose is still working. That is all that matters! Get em Rusty.

Very nice! A dog on point is a welcome sight. A beautiful setting doesn’t hurt either.

My old female , Fancy ,will be 13 in July and she'll be hunting this fall. No, she doesn't run like she used to and points with a much lower tail, but can still get the job done.

John, as my Pop would have said, “You’re livin’ right.” It’s a gift to see how simple things make you rich.

Great pics!
My ol girl, Claro has been retired for the past 4 years, she had a complete rupture of an ACL. A TPLO surgery with screws and a plate installed which of course came lose requiring a revision surgery to remove the hardware. That led to fast growing arthritis.
Prior to that she had pyometria. Before that allergies to all kinds of stuff.
Now she is fighting carcinoma. Its in her lungs...
Her eyes dont see so well either.
She still wants to hunt .
She took her first breath in my hands.
My Parker, 8 now has arthritis in a knee, vet says it's not bad enough yet so she isn't hunting.
That leaves my Sage( Parkers daughter), 3 yrs old to pick up the slack!
Each pup we are blessed with is special!!
