Adopted this 30” 12 gauge yesterday for no good reason, though it had nice measurables, comb 1 5/8, heel 2 1/2, LOP 13 15/16. I didn’t mention lightweight, 8 lbs 10 oz. Reasonable chokes, R .014, L .017. Minimum wall thickness L .038 R .033. Serial number 2345. The gun locks up tight, stock head is cracked and pinned but a solid period repair. Since it was a “not much money” gun I’ll enjoy it as is without sending it out for rehab. A grade III from what I gathered from Charles Semmer’s book. Pretty sure they quit making these a while back. I think our old friend Charlie would have liked it.
Should be interesting patterning this old timer, I read somewhere the chokes are sometimes 12” in length.
