Yesterday I thought I bought this top action, fish tail, 12 gauge with 30" Twist Steel barrels made in 1887 from the "World's Foremost Outfitter". It took my credit card and gave me a confirmation number and I was HAPPY! That was 8:30 am MDT. But, around 4:00 pm I received a cancellation of my order. Apparently, their system will allow the purchase of an item even if someone else has already purchased it; or so they say. But, I think it had a whole lot to do with the fact that the gun was only $300 bucks and sumpin went on after my purchase. More shenanigans from Carbellars. Very disappointing. I only hope that someone here was actually the recipient of this shotgun.

Contact a lawyer. When they approved your card that is a contract. They are obligated to sell you the gun.

Now there's a plan , maybe it would straighten them out !!!!! I contacted them also ,never heard back and when I call any Cabela's no one has ever answered their phone in the Gun Library always a recording !!!!

I need to edit my Post , I actually did receive a call late this afternoon after my post here , that the gun has been sold ! I believe this is the first time Cabela's has ever returned my call !

I'd start with the general manager of the store rather than the gun library guys anyway.

Larry I did the same, and was given the same response.

I hope someone in the Parker Universe ended up with this deal!!

Sue for breach of contract. Win your case for specific performance and get the gun for $300.00. Then pay your lawyer $5,000.00, for services rendered.

I didn’t even try this time. I knew there was some funny business about to be had.

That would have been an amazing deal at 300.00!

I saw the listing first thing yesterday and was taken back by the price for what looked to be a pretty nice gun. I thought about making a run on it and then realized it was Cabelas & thought--Why bother--especially for a gun that I wasn't in the market for in the first place.

I took Phil's advice and called the store manager, instead of the gun manager. It took her a few days to get back to me and she told me how this happened. She said that it has been their policy not to run a credit card until they shipped the gun. And that "somebody" from Ohio had called the night before and given their CC number for the purchase. So, according to her, this is how it was still available online at 7:30 am when it was really sold the day before. She said with the online buying system that Bass Pro/Cabela's is going to universally have to immediately run the cards to take the item out of the system. I don't necessarily have to believe her, but they have done that very same thing for me in the past. So, onward and upward.

Shoddy and sloppy but probably true based on my few dealings with Cabela's now that Bass Pro has bought them.

Take Cabellas/Bass Pro to the cleaners horrible company. When BP bought them everything went to Hell!

They aren't the only ones who do such underhanded things. Tractor Supply had safes on sale, so I checked my local store. They only had one. I paid for it with a credit card on line and even had a receipt, then took my time going to get it. When I arrived they had sold it to someone else while I was standing there. Same story, that they had not checked their computer to take the one and only safe out of their inventory and mark sold. Female manager told me to go pound sand, and said she would call the police when I told her to void the other sale and let me have it. And the other customer could make the thirty mile trip to the next store. She refused, and said too bad. You haul your butt thirty miles to the next store. Complaints to upper management at corporate went nowhere.

Maybe you should have just remained calm and let her call the police. Would have been interesting to hear the officer’s opinion of the situation.

So, Jerry they sold a safe to someone else, and they did not even own it. WOW.
