I traded a rifle and a little Boot for my latest treasure A DHE from 1907. Can't wait to take it out chicken hunting. I am just wondering if the butpad could be original?

A letter would be the only way to know, and there are records available. Does look period correct, nice D!

I do not think that particular pad is original. As I am not sure if the anti-flinch was available as early as 1907.
But that pad could have been a replacement for a pad that was originally on the gun.
A letter would likely tell you. Or if the pad is removed you would see the original screw holes from the ssbp if it was not originally fitted with a pad.

The others give good advice. Just enjoy it too. The straight grip is cool

I'll be getting a letter. This is my third Parker shotgun. I now have VH from 1903 in 12ga. A grade 2 ,10ga hammer gun from 1884 in excellent condition. Took it skeet shooting last weekend, and now my DHE from 1907. It's fun to have a piece of history.

Looks like a flat rib gun. It may have an interesting letter.

Yes scott. It is. I missed that detail.

A Parker with a flat rib is highly likely to have been ordered as a competition gun and therefor, likely to have also been ordered with a soft rubber pad.

I have one that I believe is a factory installed pad. Trying to paste pics.

About 14 1/4. Same as GH with dhbb.

Jostam Mfg. Co. was organized in 1914. Couldn't be original on a 1907 gun. Once the Jostam Anti-Flinch hit the market it was the most popular pad used on American doubles. It is a real shame no one is making 5-, 6- and 7-slot repros.

I think the barrel length is 30" . I am at work right now and will be home to check it out in a couple of days.

Pretty gun, lucky new owner! I'd be interested to see the letter.
