Or save the expense of fitting and finishing a skeleton buttplate and have someone with the skill, like Dave Trevallion, fit a leather covered pad. That would definitely be my second choice and way above a leather faced pad.

That would be the issue. Repro plates and Galazan plates are available in the correct 0 frame stock size. However, those plates are thinner than original Parker plates. It may be possible to find a correct 0 frame original Parker plate but you might have to look hard for one.
