That H&R was made in America in the 1880's (I think). H&R brought over English gunsmiths to set up a shop to make and train people over here to build SXS guns. That endeavor lasted about 4 years with approximately 2000 guns being made. They gave up on that to continue making revolvers. I know that isn't the complete story but it is all I remember.
