The "compilation" section in the Appendix is not very reliable, in my experience. Just today, I checked two graded eight gauges whose total production figures did not agree from the "Grades" section, compared to the Serialization Book, further compared to the Appendix compilation. I can understand that the Grades section is adjusted for missing books, but the Serialization Book and the Appendix compilation is compiled from the same source, the Stock Books. We just have to remember that the volume of the work eliminates any chance for perfection. The Parker Story is still the greatest gun book ever written.
