Daryl that was a factory Uncle Morris (RST) payload of 7/8 oz of #5 at 1200 FPS, 2 1/2". The gun was the 2 Frame 16 that Mr. Thompson entrusted to me last year with some really tight chokes. Shot was close so not much of a challenge for the combination. I have not hunted turkeys much with a gun for the last 20 years, usually archery hunted. Last year I checked off the 10 gauge with a first, this year the 16, will shoot for the 20 next year.

Well you're an archery hunter so you like the challenge.
Let me know when you get to the 28. Then you'll be in the tall cotton.

I have some 1 oz loads and honestly have no reason why I did not use them other than I did not think about it. Yes, you are correct in that thinking for 2026 if I can pull off the 20 ga next season.

![]() ![]() ![]() So if you get a gobble gobble bird with the 28 you need to ponder buying a Parker 410 for the 2027 spring season
