Richard mentioned the Canada goose population problem here on the front range in Colorado.

It's fairly amazing to see how things can change in someone's life. Back in the sixties & seventies Canadian geese were a scarce bird around these parts. So much so that the Colorado game regulations limited a hunter to six geese per-season total. To manage this they had a special goose permit which had six neck tag's with it. When you killed a goose you had to fill out the tag & attach it to the neck like you would a carcass tag for big game.

During that time hunters & others started building & installing goose nesting platforms at every available piece of water in eastern Colorado. The result of these efforts have been way to successful & we now have a massive resident goose population that doesn't migrate and pisses off joggers & golfers to no end. There is now talk of round-ups to cut the population down in the park's.
