safeties wont stop the hammers from falling, it only keeps the triggers from moving

Wish they had auto safeties on hammer guns. The biggest mistake I continued to make with them dove hunting is to cock both hammers to shoot at a dove, kill it with the first shot, go to pick it up, and later discover I still had a cocked gun with the unfired barrel. Would only find it out when I went to reload. It was hard to get used to.
