Default A gorgeous spring day yesterday...

out for bluegills with the cutest little outfit: Winston IM6 7' 2wt, Orvis Bar Stock I reel, floating line of indeterminant origin, Streamwalker Native net. No trophy 'gills, but plenty of a size big enough to put a nice bend in the rod. I love the way bluegills fight, and what a great day to be out...

I love that rod/reel setup, Phil. I got a thing for light line fly rods and sub-gauge shotguns…..

Thanks for the post!

Dave

I’d be very satisfied with that day. Enjoy.

Phil, do you keep the bluegills? Beer batter bluegills are one of my favorites. I picked up a nice little ultralight Ugly Stick at a gun show recently, hoping to get out with it this weekend.

Harold, I don’t keep these; it’s catch and release only, plus there’s a lot of urban run off. I imagine there’s more chemicals than I care to deal with!
