Parker additions through the first half of 2026???

2026 has been more of a sell year than a buy year for me so far. Sold a GH 16/30 Damascus, CH Bernard 12/30, DH 8/36, and a VH 12/30. (all except one on this forum) I did add a GH 8/36. Looking to add a nice Parker hammerless 20 or 16 , C or B, pre 1920ish.
I did make a nice upgrade to my Fox guns. Sold a CE 12/30 . C-HE SuperFox, and DE 12/30. Bought a D Special 12ga/30" live bird gun, serial 23518 see DGJ vol24#3 pg 112. How about you??

Picked this one up recently.

Parker SC, serial no. 242359. According to a Remington memo dated April 21, 1942, 242359 was still sitting at the Remington Arms Works in Ilion, N.Y., and was the only SBT listed under “WHSE. STOCK APRIL 18TH OF ITEMS ORDERED BUT NOT RELEASED.” I know there is/was at least one SBT with a higher serial number, SC 242367.

When this old girl left Ilion and where she went, we may never know. But she’s down in Georgia now.

Here are a couple of pictures of my YTD adds. Top gun is the GH 8ga that I have finished draw polishing and sending it off to Breck Gorman for barrel finish restoration. The barrels had gone brown which drives me nuts. So they will come back black and white. I can't stand ugly damascus barrels.
The bottom gun is my Special D (extractor) Fox 12ga 30" live bird-trap gun with a MC stock and 15" LOP. The engraving on this gun is unique as are more features. It has no grade stamp, no patient stamps, no factory card but it's 100% Fox. Fascinating gun.

That’s a good question. It’s between the 11 gauge and the CH, just because I was able to track down so much history.

A couple odd balls added this year. Both are restorations.

The one with the recoil pad is a 1917 s/n. My research letter shows it as a 16 ga VH with 28 inch barrels. This gun sports Titanic 12 gauge 30” barrels. The engraving and the checkering are certainly not V grade. Regardless, it’s a pleasure to shoot, though the top lever is a bit left of center, it locks up tightly. A definite candidate for some attention to bring it back to spec. Whatever that is.

The second is a lesson learned the hard way. This is a lovely and tight DHE. Pics of it were sent to me from a trusted source who was visiting the Tulsa gun show earlier this year. The price was (I thought) very reasonable. An impulse buy. When I measured the chokes, I found them both to measure cylinder. When I received my research letter, it stated that this gun left Meriden with 30” barrels. They now measure 28”.

As I said, lesson learned. It’s very lovely to look at and locks up tight. Have not shot it much. That skeleton butt plate has a bit steeper pitch, and the heal bruised my shoulder the one time I took it to the range. I did put several guns through their paces that day.

Considering using for the Skeet events at the SXS shoot in Lynden, WA on August 15th.

After that, I may port the barrels, have them threaded for extended chokes to bring them closer to 30” and replacing the rib with a raised and ventilated one.

I kid, mostly.

Another Parker acquisition. Trouble identifying this one, as I can find no serial number. But it does state “Chas. Parker, Meriden CT” . Obviously a refin. Though not as I’m accustomed to seeing.

We won a ragged old lifter from the silent auction, but nothing else.

I sold a handful of "Old odd Rifles " I hadn't shot in years through a local gun shop ,nothing I would want to advertise on our site or put the time in shipping them ,so none of our members missed out on anything special ! As for purchases , I picked up a really nice little GHE 20 with 28" Barrels on our site and a few weeks ago I bought the CHE 20 Gauge with 30" Dam 4 Barrels ,that was advertised on our site also ! I have no Pictures of the CHE to post , I sent the wood up to Brian D.,to have the checkering cleaned up and the Barrels down to Breck G.,to have the Dam 4 barrels Refinished ,one note on the 30" Barrels ,the gun has 2 7/8" Chambers and fortunately the Chambers are mentioned in the letter ! !Once I get it all back ,I will post pics. ! I was quite pleased with the CHE Engraving , it is Exceptional ,I think it has the crispest engraving of any Parker gun I have ever owned !

Through the kindness of the member who bought my little Grade-0, 0-frame 16-gauge Lifter with 24” (cut) barrels, with a true ball grip, not a round knob grip, I bought back this special woodcock and grouse gun a few months ago. Keavin Nelson re-checked the grip and forend and gave it back to me at Hausmann’s last week, very nicely done. Next step is is to send the Twist barrels to be redone.

I’m a happy guy!

That reminds me….

Three Dolls Head Trojans. 1 each in 12, 16 & 20 gauge. All 2 1/2” chambered, 28” barrels and choked mod/full (the 16 ga. is closer to mod/improved mod). Very familiar dimensions as I’ve carried my 1930 12 gauge Trojan almost exclusively for 30 odd years. I shoot them well. The 20 and 12 are in frequent rotation to the three gun clubs I frequent weekly. The 16 will see more use as soon as my Armusa boat lands stateside with my ammo.

Mike Koneski 06-12-2026 06:32 PM

The only Parker I procured this year is a sweet 12g VH straight grip, double trigger, very good dimensions, Men’s Department chokes and did I mention 34” barrels.

Time flies Allen. You bought it in April of 2023

Don Anderson 06-12-2026 11:25 PM

I bought my first (actually first 2) Parkers back in Feb of this year. A 12ga VHE 30" barrels, factory vent rib, straight stock and factory single selective trigger. Also at the same time a 20ga VH with 26" barrels.

That sent me down the classic SxS rabbit hole and since then I've purchased a 32" Remington 1900, a 32" Parker VH project gun (needs a butt stock), a 30" Fox Sterlingworth 16ga, a 32" 12 GA Sterlingworth that was refurbished and restocked with a modern dimension English stock and BT forend, and a 32" Sterlingworth with factory stocks.

Frank Srebro 06-15-2026 04:05 PM

Sold quite a few guns during ‘26 both personally and at auction, and bought a GHE/16g/28” with fine Damascus tubes, also a VH/16g/30” and a Fox K Grade SBT/32” that’s pretty unusual and I’ll be doing an article on her for the Fox Newsletter. On the Fox, those of you who were at Hausmann’s might remember the older gentleman about 1/2 way down the center aisle with a bunch of mostly Parkers on display, not really for sale. I got to talking with him about clay target shooting and when I told him I had a K Grade Fox he was all over me on/off for 2 days asking for my sell price. Actually I shot her yesterday, super sporting on call, and was high gun in the squad when I left after 54 shots. Although a right shoulder shooter I’m still limited in lifting with my left arm and 9 stations @ 6 birds each were plenty for now. Man, how I love tight chokes for sporting clays. Hit or miss, and if a miss I’d better figure out why.

Craig Larter 06-15-2026 04:33 PM

Clarence Bowman Mr. Trap Gun. Boy do I have stories about CB.
