A Lefever with a Lefever

3 Attachment(s)
For those of you who were not able to make Hausmann's or left before the trophies presentation, Sara Lefever, 3rd Great Grand Daughter of "Uncle Dan" Lefever, shot a 66 out 78 targets in the main event taking High Lady. The overall high score for the event was a 71. She did this with a 12 ga G grade Lefever with cut barrels that had hung on the wall of her grandfather and later an uncle as a decoration for many decades.

Koneski told us the furthest targets off the hill, roughly 45 yards, "chokes don't matter", she broke 3 out of 6.

We are traveling to see the Big Boy locomotive before going home but when we get back I am going to take a hacksaw to a couple of my Parker's. :rotf:

Congratulations Sara and great chocolate chip cookies!

Congratulations Sara, what a wonderful heritage!

Daryl Corona 06-08-2026 08:42 AM

It's been a pleasure watching you progress over the years so your award was long overdue. You must have a good coach.:) Again, congratulations Sara and thanks for the cookies.

Congratulations to Sara! And that guy in the picture of the three of you looks a lot like a hunting buddy of mine.

The coaching is complete and my role has shifted to cheerleader.

Please forego the short skirt and pom-poms but continue to refine Sara's game.

Many congratulations to you Sara for this accomplishment. Their will be many more I am sure:bowdown:

Yup! We had a lot of fun shooting together!

As I understand it, the word is cookie, not cookies. Did Daryl and Chuck sneak in under the tent and score more than one?

Daryl Corona 06-08-2026 03:06 PM

Nope. I snatched my cookie whilst I was organizing the challenge event. There were many goodies brought by different people throughout the weekend.

Sara LeFever 06-08-2026 03:10 PM

You guys let me down, I left with two cookies remaining! :nono:

Didn’t see him

Harry Geitler? He was a no-show.

Thank you all for the congratulations. It was very unexpected, and I’m still surprised with how well I did. I shot my first shotgun at Hausmann’s in 2013, and never in my wildest dreams did I expect a day where I would win a trophy!

Could there be a coach involved? I have seen you shoot with a couple of very good shooters. A good coach needs a good student. Thank you for your tour of Lefever guns a few years ago at the New Years shoot.

Austin J Hawthorne Jr. 06-12-2026 03:16 PM

Watching her shoot that 66 was impressive to say the least!!

I would say that Pete is my main “coach”. We’ve shot together the last 7 years, and he was the one that introduced me to skeet. He’s also been a wealth of information on reloading; and always keeps me stocked with shells. :D

Told you to keep at it and you’ll do fine. Now if that #8 station wasn’t wind blown on Friday, you might have moved up to second. Keep grinding Sara, next up is to qualify for Team Lefever and have Lefever beat Fox. I’d so much want you shooting in the cage next to me!

I'd also love to see you make the LeFever team but you have to qualify on the 5 stand first. I know a guy.

Keep up your progress. You're doing great.
