2026 Alabama State Trap Shoot

1 Attachment(s)
I haven't reported much this season because frankly I haven't accomplished much worth reporting. But today the Parker SAA single barrel trap went 200 straight to win Alabama Non-Resident Singles Champion. A Parker is hard to beat.

Great shooting, John!

Reggie Bishop 06-06-2026 06:38 PM

Jim DiSpagno 06-06-2026 07:29 PM

You'll never cease to amaze me John. Congratulations

Rick Roemer 06-06-2026 08:36 PM

Congratulations!

Daryl Corona 06-06-2026 09:20 PM

A 200 straight is quite an accomplishment. Nice going John.

J. Scott Hanes 06-06-2026 09:57 PM

Congratulations, John!!!!
A 200x200 is a feat that is extremely difficult to achieve. You have to pay attention a LONG time. So happy for you and hope you enjoyed doing it. I have come close a few times, but never got over the hump. Sure the SAA was there, but that ride was all you! You are too modest...

Mike Franzen 06-06-2026 11:07 PM

Amazing feat. Just imagine what you could do with a krieghoff or perazzi! :rotf:

Bill Murphy 06-07-2026 07:06 AM

Congratulations, John. Some day soon, I'll take my SAA out for a run. A run of 19X25 would be about my limit.

CraigThompson 06-07-2026 07:24 AM

Congratulations sir 👍🏻

Garry L Gordon 06-07-2026 07:39 AM

I once took 200 straight quail over 200 straight points…then I woke up.:banghead:

I can only imagine the preparation and concentration required for 200 straight. Congratulations. I’m in awe.

John B White 06-07-2026 09:20 AM

Congratulations, you are an inspiration!!! Striving to make my first run of 25 and achieved a 22 a week ago yesterday. Albeit with my Ithaca 5e. With my SC3 I’ve gotten a few 21’s. Only been shooting trap consistently since acquiring the SC3 earlier this year. Guys at the range keep encouraging me to get a “modern” gun and loan me their BT99’s or Krieghoff’s trying to illustrate their point. And while nice, they fall flat with me. Though I did pick up a Caesar Guerini Summit from a member (take delivery next Friday) that gave me my best 5 stand score (don’t ask).

Congratulations John, maintaining focus for that long escaped me quite awhile ago!

Phil Yearout 06-07-2026 02:47 PM

As a guy who is happy when my rounds are 20/25 or over, I just gotta say DAMN! Well done!

William Woods 06-07-2026 07:34 PM

Excellent shooting sir.

Larry Stauch 06-08-2026 09:36 AM

200 Straight

200 straight is impressive with any gun! Congratulations John on a great accomplishment.

Dean Romig 06-08-2026 01:02 PM

Good Show John!
You’re the perfect shooter to represent the classic double gun community!!

Good for you John

Wally Barrick 06-08-2026 09:44 PM

Imagine that...

No porting
No lengthened forcing cones
No glow worm front site
No back-boring
No interchangeable chokes
No palm swell
No adjustable comb
No trigger job
No cast (on or off)
No adjustable LOP

Great job!

John Davis 06-09-2026 07:14 AM

“No glow worm front site.”.

Actually, no front bead of any kind. Just point and shoot.

Timothy Cicora 06-11-2026 08:44 PM

Great Job !!!

My Parkers still have front beads but they've been touched up with a black marker if they have to much of a halo. That white golf ball is a tad distracting and I would think especially so in your game of trap with a high gun. Congrats again John.
