The gentleman I got this gun from had his own dealers license so he could buy directly from Mr. Skuse. He special ordered extra barrels and extra forends. I don’t think the F/F barrels were ever used. My friend started with Winchester 23’s which were stolen, then BSS’s. When I was living in Germany he went to Parker Reproduction's. I had a SSS with English stock and DT’s which I sold in a weak moment. Never again….

SSS Gun
I have a real clean (light use) double trigger DHE-12 3" chamber and factory marked IC/MOD and 28" tubes. SN is 12-xxxxx It does not have SS in the SN. I would list it in the for-sale section if there is interest in it. SXS Ohio

If you measure the length of the chokes you will see they are longer than the normal IC and Mod barrels. At least the ones I've owned were.

How long were the IC and MOD chokes on the SSS?
|
I'm sorry, I don't remember and I don't have one right now to measure.
|
I did a search and it was stated the Parker Reproductions chokes were 2 inches.

It has been reported in this sub-forum by an individual with the proper tools and experience for measuring, found through a very small sampling, that standard 12g. Parker Reproduction DHE's had chokes starting at about 2" from the muzzle that taper out to the muzzle, the choke area of these standard guns have no chrome lining through the choke area. Whereas, the chokes of the Steel Shot Special begin about 2 9/16" from the muzzle and taper out to a point about 3/8" from the muzzle where the taper becomes parallel and flat out to the muzzle, the choke area of the SSS's have chrome lining through the choke area.
