The stock book is available for this serial number. The examination of the stock book, and order book if available, with a letter request may show the original grade. I've got a 0 grade 10 gauge (1897?) top lever with laminated barrels that is on the Parkers Found list. A long ago letter request included the production info, but IIRC the price it was sold for also put it in the 0 grade of price list at the time.

I answered this question to the best of my knowledge yesterday but my response has disappeared.
There are many stamps on Parker Bros. barrels that we don’t understand the meaning of… the E may just be one of those. I don’t know of any barrel used by Parker with an E designation stamp. . |

I agree there are many stamps whose meaning escapes us. I was only pointing out that your previous reply didn't 'disappear', just that you missed it.
