well i was informed mine is not factory wood which is fine it is very nice wood i could live with it

What was the basis for that decision? The nose of the comb is much more like Meriden's work, and the oval 'initial escutcheon' isn't the norm for Remington work.

we pulled the butt stock off and that showed the differences from factory fitting
as mentioned it's all good one more step in the education process

The borders around the checkering are another giveaway that the stock is neither Meriden nor Ilion.
