Since I got out of serious muzzleloading rifle competition I don't use it much anymore. I find there are better alternatives to everything you may want to use it for, except water displacement.

When at a several day long m/l shoot where I'd shoot all day in different events, day after day, I'd soak the bore with WD-40 (Water Displacing - Formula #40) to drive out every vestige of moisture, keeping the bore and rifling safe until a thorough cleaning was done at the end of the shoot.

WD-40 excels at displacing water, that's what it was designed to do.

And the boys are at it once again.

My only laugh of the day............so far.

W D 40 may not be a lubricant, but when I sprayed it into car and home locks, the locks worked much better for years to come.

Plus if you have WD40 you can spray it on bass lures, it acts as an attractant. Just another helpful hint from your Uncle Larry.

Put a net out, spray and lift the net. Lots of minnows in the net.
