I finally got around to finishing the walking stick project that I started a while back. Phil Carr graciously provided the antler; I picked the stick up on one of my ramblings. I can't take credit for the texture on the stick; that was provided by some unnamed and unseen insects under the bark long before I picked it up :).

Curious as to how the antler is attached to the stick, with allthread?

When I was in High School I worked on a White Pine Blister Rust crew summers for the NH Department of Recourses and Development. You can google what that was. We always sough out new hardwood growth in the spring suitable for walking sticks for the summer work.

"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice."
With apologies to Robert Frost, I think the world will end in a tangle of vines. However, In the mean time, I enjoy seeing what the vines can do.
