Destry, are your barrel(s) marked "Long Range"? A 32" 20 gauge is indeed a rare one. I had to look it up because I wasn't aware they made one. INTERESTING.

No it's not marked Long Range. I've actually never seen a Long Range marked gun that I thought was real, though I know they supposedly made them.

The "Long Range" boring was only offered in 12-gauge --

I sold a bona fide "Long Range" marked 12 ga. M11 32" SR to a fellow IWLA duck hunter a couple of years ago after he told me he had to have it. I gave him an original "Long Range" sheet as Dave showed earlier along with it. With a Lab named "'Tank" (short for Choptank) I couldn't resist.

All 20s (except magnums of course) are Light Twentys, even though the Light may be missing on the engraving of the gun. There is no such thing as a Standard 20. The barrels have the three holes drilled in the ring.

I was gifted an A5 20ga by my father in law who was gifted it by his father in law (my Pretty Wife's Grandfather.) He got it in a poker game in the 60's. He was a liquor salesman on the Chicago South side during that time. It was a high stakes game and his opponent had run out of money and thought very highly of his full house kings over sixes in 5 card draw and put the A5 on the table. My Pretty Wife's Grandfather laid down four 9's and the gun was his.

As to rate of fire and handling of the 20, I once hit a single dove three times in a row until the last shot threw said bird over a tree. Tough to do that with a Parker.

Rereading this thread last week rekindled my passion for the humpbacks! Took my A-5 twenty out for a round of SC on Sunday and got lots of comments like, 'OMG, a REAL Browning!". and "Can you still get parts for them?". I said "Yeah, kind of like finding parts for an M-1!" Used my MOD barrel; next time I'll go for SK and have some real fun!

Default Nice little Auto-5 20 gauge

This just popped up on GI. Great little bird gun with a 26" vent rib IC choked barrel from 1965.

Looks like a decent price too! I have seen people asking $750 t0 $1000 dollars for 20 gauge imp-cyl barrels alone. Also: Larry- Is it safe to put a magnum barrel on these early A-5 20 gauges? Another quick question- Do the 1960-65 superposed 28 gauges and 410's all use the 20 gauge frames?
