I just received the 16 Gauge Trojan via UPS, The Damn stock is broken at the wrist ! It was packaged in a plastic gun case inside a box very bad packaging, Now up shit creek without a paddle. Cain't send it back with all thats going on in Brads family Maybe I could reach out to Brian Dudley only have 1 month before the event, fellows I need some idea's Gary

Brian thanks a million ! and I am sure I speak for everybody that is trying to get this youth shoot off the ground, As I mentioned in our telephone conversation I will get it out ASAP. I was floored when I saw the gun. The UPS man made a comment that they sure don't pack them like you do, should have not let him go till I opened it but the package did not look damaged, Brian I am sure I speak for everybody Thank You! Guys, I hate to say it but I have had a nice DHE damaged and it appeared to be slammed down to do it. It was properly packaged, almost two weeks late on delivery and it appeared to have been intentionally damaged in the post office. Don't have an answer but honestly believe we get sorry handling because it is obviously a gun being shipped at times. Damn shame.

Al, If it is so obvious, then there is a problem. Did you write “Gun” on the side of it or something?

Never put anything on a package or in an address to even suggest the contents may be a firearm.

If a gun breaks down, ship it broken down and well wrapped & padded. An assembled gun is just asking to be broken (which is what happened to this trojan by the way).

Boxes inside of boxes are a good idea too. One for barrel, one for back half and then both inside of one larger box.

Taking the proper precausions will nearly always avoid damage from handling. Short of being run over by a truck or getting plain lost, you will be good.

Some would be surprised the condition that some guns show up to me as shipped from their owners. I have, more than once, had to call an owner and say “good thing we were replacing the stock anyway, because it is broken“.

Understandably, an individual may not have the materials on hand to pack something this well regularly like a business would (or should). But then again, there are many individuals that take the time to build wooded boxes to ship their guns.

It all just boils down to how much you care about the gun you are shipping and it not getting damaged.

So in this case with the Trojan it was in one of those plastic Plano like cases right? How in the heck would a gun get broken in one of those even if not broken down? I’d hate to think it was intentional, but jeez, you are doing something if you manage to break a gun inside of one of those.

I’ve shipped quite a few at this point - always broken down in corrugated of some type and not had an issue.
