A new set of barrels?

A the risk of sounding stupid...is there any way to get a new set of barrels for my GH? I'll still shoot the damascus, but just wondering. Thanks.

It may be possible in the future to have a new set of fluid steel barrels made, est cost at least $4000.

Sometimes a set of old barrels will fit, or can be made to fit. A good set of barrels costs anywhere from $1000 to $2000 and fitting filing and possible rebluing extra.

If a person has a ruptured set of barrels, sleeving at $2000 to $2500 is an option.

Teague liners can be installed if wall thickness is too thin. Cost is about $2500.

I would see no reason to need another set of barrels unless somehow the barrels ruptured from an obstruction or severe overpressure. I like shooting my damascus barrels and shoot them no different from fluid steel, but then I carefully look at the barrels when I am thinking about acquiring a gun.

just go trout and steelhead fishing and take care of and enjoy those those beautiful and sweet shooting damascus barrels. They don't even make them anymore and those new guns coming from Purdey's with damascus barrels, those are new old stock barrels because of the unavailability of newly made barrels.

Thank you gentlemen for the info re: barrels. I have seen the site wherein old barrels are offered for sale. I am being a little premature here as my GH is still on layaway. I can see a VH in my future. The local pawn shop has a very dirty Trojan on their rack. Underneath all of the grime I can see case colors peeking through. At the price they want, it'll stay there for some time. Unemployment here is off the page, but Central Oregon is a beautiful place. Towering snow covered mountains on the horizon. I asked the sales lady at the pawn shop why the Trojan hasn't sold. She replied. "This is central Oregon; poverty with a view."

Take it slow, look at plenty of Parkers, study TPS, talk to Parker collectors, know what you want before you start buying guns so that you do not make decisions you regret later. Join the PGCA and sit on your wallet for a year.

No, I am not. I've never been to Maine. I'd like to have the Parkers however. I'd also like to go to Maine, fish and eat lobster. Trouble is I live in the far off northwest and Maine is about as far from here as anyplace in the USA can be. I have lived all over the US and South East Asia (wonderful place...ah...maybe not). As a military guy I never could put down roots and didn't until I retired.

My P grade has a set of aftermarket Vickers Barrels on it. I think they were made back in the 60's. So they have been made before.
