Marty in my opinion 12 gauge VH shooters in good mechanical condition go for $800 to $1200. I would make sure the hook has not been "dimpled" on the side to tighten the gun up or been peened down for the same purpose.

Check the triggers and make sure they aren't 1/2 pound or 14 pounds. And when there is no pitting in the barrels I always think they have been honed which of it's self is not bad. But sometimes they are honed so much that they are below my minimum wall thicknesses and then instead of a shooter I wind up with a wall hanger.
