Default Kautzky trigger

How difficult is it to change a Fox with a single trigger to a double trigger?
Thanks for any advice . Thanks Tracy

Some years ago, Keith Kearcher charged me $300.

IME the Fox-Kautzky is is one of the better vintage single triggers. But if you have problems it might be best to send your Fox to an expert; Dan May comes to mind.

I've seen some mechanical variations inside the trigger plates as the earlier Fox-Kautzky was refined to the production design. If you're thinking of trying to convert it yourself I suggest pulling the trigger plate, study the machining and mechanism and compare with a double trigger Fox trigger plate to see what you're getting into and before removing the Kautzky parts.

I have been looking at a Fox that has a lot of things I like but I would prefer a double trigger and wanted an idea of how much that would cost. Frank ,thanks for your response .

$ 300 in today’s market sounds really cheap, and then you have roughly $100 shipping each way. I have found the three Kautzky to be pretty good.

Dan May with Classic Gunstocks got my Kautzky trigger working after several other gunsmiths failed
