| British Proofs |
|

After talking to the guys in Houston about this gun, it's all coming back to me. The guy actually remembered me talking to him several months ago. The thing that tipped me over about this gun is it has some British proofs on the gun, according to the guys at Collectors. It doesn't say "anything" on the top rib. It has metric bore diameters on the barrel flats of 20.5 and 21.1. And it has no Parker marks on the barrel flats that he could tell me about. The serial number, on the water table, is 3708 (and FR 9) which says it's a D grade 10 gauge with 32" barrels. It does have 3708 on the side of the barrel lug. Heck, maybe it was ordered by someone in England. Maybe that explains the weird bottom tang with no serial number on it and the weird forend latch. A letter may tell something about all this. The sales guy says he's going to send me pictures and if he does, I'll stick them in this post.

F.9.R does not indicate a grade.
The sculpted teardrop on the side of the bolster indicates a B grade or above. .

The D shown in the grade column in the Serialization Book of guns under 6000 serial numbers means the gun had Damascus barrels. It doesn't mean a specific grade, just the barrel steel.

I have never had any luck with these people. Won't respond.Won't answer questions. Won't negotiate. Most of the desireable guns they get see to have "something odd about them" and never enough info or pictures to make a judgement.

These are pictures I received from these gentlemen in February 2024.
Going off of memory here now, I think the gun is for sale since 2023. I did find them very easy to deal with and purchased an L4 12 gauge and a non Parker hammer gun from them at the 2025 Las Vegas show. |

What does 3708 or 3908 say in the SB. My book is so dog eared that I can't find those numbers.

I think the adjustable wedge on the rear lug is interesting.
I guess it keeps the barrels "tight on face". |
