UPS and FedEx exist to ship packages, and they do so successfully. USPS exists to employ folks (many of whom are unemployable in the private sector), with an annual loss (cost to taxpayers) of about $10,000,000,000 per year.

Just recently I had to ship a bad starter from my 450SL back to a supplier. The FEDEX ship station was in the lobby of the bank. They stopped the service there...Now it is in a Dollar General store !!..It made it OK...

Default Shipping

Okay, here we go again on the SHIPPING THING!

Buddy, just go online and create an account at UPS and FedEx; anybody can do it. And you need an account to get the best rates and be able to print out your own labels. Just print it out on regular paper, cut it down to size with some scissors and tape it on with some clear 3M packing tape and you're done. When you get ready to ship a gun you have to get the dimensions and the weight of the box and enter all that data in the form. I open both of the shippers in different tabs to see which is going to be cheapest. But, like someone else said, UPS has been adjusting my bill upwardly after the fact with no explanation or recourse for me, so I don't us them anymore. But, if you feel compelled to use UPS any UPS brown truck will take your pre-paid labeled box and give you a receipt with no questions asked.

Insurance is a whole different animal. Never use the shipper's insurance, it's a waste of a lot of money. I use Collectibles Insurance and there is NO CHARGE if you are insured with them. I have had a few claims, and they pay like a slot machine. Good luck with your shipping.
