Converting a single trigger gun to double triggers

I have a Remington era single trigger project gun. It came to me with the Parker Single. Trigger system, which needs some work.
This will be a working gun, not a collector's item. I love double triggers, so was wondering about costs, and who does this kind of work.

Thanks Brian. I was guessing that you would have some experience with this.
I have no idea what it would cost to go through an Infallible trigger, but if the conversion was within striking distance, pricewise, I would go with the double triggers.

I hope it's an honest question, how did the Infallible trigger get into this conversation? You said your gun had a Parker trigger.

The Miller trigger on my VH16 works wonderfully if the tang screws are indexed and at the correct tension. On the Miller trigger the end of the sear that is actuated by the trigger are bent. If yours is anything like that you would need new sears or the originals bent back plus the floor plate would need some restoration to double trigger status as I remember.

If you are looking at it from a cost standpoint, repair the single vs convert to double... the choice would likely be to repair the single. Get it to a good single trigger guy and have it fixed.

Personally I feel like single triggers in double guns are the dumbest thing and have no issue with going to double triggers on principle alone.

To answer your question Todd, back in late 2010/early 2011 I had Keith Kearcher convert a SST Repro to DT. At that time, the conversion cost me $300 plus shipping. Keith Kearcher has since retired and has turned his business over to his nephew Cody Kearcher. I do not know if Cody is currently doing the conversions. Here's a link to my thread on that topic:

If I were ever to do it again, I would want the full monte by doing it the way Brian Dudley did the conversion. Undoubtedly, this method would cost considerably more than $300 -- likey even multiples of that amount. Here's a link to what I feel is the only way I'd be completely satisfied with the end result.

It's a Parker trigger. I thought they called it the "Infallible".
It's the one with the selector slide next to the trigger.

The Infallible is a different design. The selector is located top side, along side the top tag.

The Infallible trigger was made by the Lancaster Single Trigger Company in Lancaster, PA. They had nothing to do with Parker Brothers. I have several Infallible triggers and they all work well, no problems.
