Seems like someone mentioned a good gunsmith or two in Texas that I had not heard of before but who was good.

The filled holes in the bottom rib, and the plug put in the stock to fill, the screw hole, are always going to show. Instead of always having to explain it away, why not just leave the swivels there? I have a very beautiful DHE 16ga. with swivels. I was told by the gentleman (original owner) that that's how the gun was ordered. I don't mind them at all.

I must agree with Edgar leave them there. I also have a DHE with factory swivels so before you do anything make sure of the originality or lack of first.

I never remove swivels on classic shotguns. I find them useful and not objectionable.
