The Lab depicted was "King Buck" and was owned by John Olin. After that stamp, the rules were changed to prohibit dogs or hunters in the duck stamp. A friend of mine who won the Mich Duck and trout stamp competitions 7 times had a scene with hunters in one of his winning duck stamps. Again, rules were changed. No more hunters.

The Duck Stamp special was finished in "French Grey".
What was that?
