That was a lucky break for you. The Jaeger side mount was a copy of the G&H except in aluminum. Just about anything G&H is a plus. Only problen is finding rings if you're changing scope tube sizes, from 7/8" to 1", etc.
William, I have an Alaskan on a '57 M70 .257, and it's just too small a field of view for a long shot. Looks a bit odd too.
