Default Some Odd Books, Cheap

1. Gun Dogs Afield, Horace Lytle, 1942, a fun book with lots of field trial anecdotes, Lynn Bougue Hunt drawings, 277 pages, 6 X 9 format. $5

2. Sportsman's Notebook, H.G. Tapply, 1951, 1964, compilation of "Tap's Tips" from Field and Stream, 329 illustrated pages, 6 X 9 1/2 format. Hunting, fishing and much more. $6

3. Chesapeake, James Michener, you know what it is. 863 pages, unread condition. 8 X 6. Mint dustcover. $7

4. Gun Dog, Richard Wolters, 1961, bird dog training, 150 pages, brand new including dustcover. 6 X 9 format. $6

5. Game Dog, more Richard Wolters, 1983, bird dog and retriever training, mint condition including dustcover, 201 pages. Epilogue by Gene Hill. $7

6. Wing Shooting Trap and Skeet, Jimmy Robinson Volume Two, 1955, great hunting stories as well as competitive trap and skeet history and records. Lots of illustrations and photos, 219 pages, 6 X 9, good clean condition. $7

7. You and your Dog, David Taylor, soft cover, 288 pages, 1986, 1988, health,
care, grooming, and behavior information. Linda's dog book, Springer on cover. $5

8. Shotguns by Keith, Elmer's shotgun book, 1967, 4 page forward by Major Askins. Sells for a fortune on Amazon, but this clean minty copy with average dustcover, $7

9. The Handgun, Geoffrey Boothroyd, 9 X 11, 564 pages, all you ever wanted to know about handguns old and new. Lots of history about antique and modern handguns. 1970. A big, heavy book in excellent condition with dustcover and plastic cover. $9

10. Anderson and Ireland Hardware and Sporting Goods catalog, Baltimore, MD, 1937, hard cover, 8 1/2 X 11, everything under the sun including Parker shotguns. 442 pages, just the index is 19 pages of small print. A few great glossy color pages. The best hardware catalog I have ever seen. Worn cover, minty inside. $10

11. The Complete Book of Corvette, Editors of Consumer Guide. 8 1/2 X 11, 320 pages, almost a coffee table book, but more technical and with extensive history. 1987. Hundreds of big color illustrations. Unread condition with mint dustcover, history back to 1953 as well as prototypes, sticker prices, production figures. I couldn't give this book up, but my Corvette days are over. $10

12. Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, Tenth Aniversary Book, 2002, soft cover, 8 1/2 X 11, 112 pages. My suggestion for the Parker Gun Museum that did not come to fruition. A great museum on Bogue Sound, North Carolina, worth a trip. I didn't pay for it, so $2

13. Hunter, J.A. Hunter, 1952, elephant hunting classic, 261 pages, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, read condition, tiny water stain before page 1, 15 pages of photos. $5

14. Marsh Tales, William N. Smith, 1985, 9 X 6, 228 pages, unread condition with dustcover and plastic wrap. The most entertaining game warden, waterfowling work you can read. Real life with names, Maryland, Virginia Easter Shore. Many great drawings, and a few historical photos. $8

15. The Book of Rifles, Fourth Edition, W.H.B. Smith and Joseph Smith, 1960, 1979, the definitive work on every rifle you ever even thought of, sporting and military, old and recent. 689 pages, 6 X 9. Unread condition with worn dustcover. A classic reference work. $10

16. The Gun that Made the Twenties Roar, William J. Helmer, 1969, unread condition with plastic protected mint dustcover. 286 pages, apparently the definitive history and information work on the Thompson submachine gun. I don't know because I can't afford them. Overdue from a local library, but not by me. Card is intact. $11

The last time I sold books, it was $8 shipping on one or two. How about $10 for the first two and the same if you buy five or more unless postage gets out of hand? I will use mediamail which is real cheap. More to come. Please let me know what your intensions are by PM, not on this thread. I will try my best to update. When I wrote this ad, the total was $115, crazy huh? Take them all, $100 free shipping. Get in before others bid. Please don't just buy one book. Packing is heck. Bill Murphy
