Who is E. Chanslor?

This fella put down $450 in 1890 to buy an AH two barrel set. Must have had a few dollars! Can't find out anything about him. He lived in Lexington, Mo.

The gun also may have some association with a Gen Pogue at Ft Levenworth.

Anybody know who these fellas are?

the best start for finding someone from back then - is the census records. Many of them can be found online

another good source is the old city directory books- most towns did them every year until the phone company took over the task.


Either source should give you an idea about age and profession
