16 ga VHE with SN above 236531

Default 16 ga VHE with SN above 236531

I just recently purchased a 16 ga VHE with a sn in the 240+ range
26" bbl 's 2 3/4 in chambers 98% condition full imp mod chokes the wood looks like B grade wood actually stunning forend and butt stock
also has a factory case
I presume this is a Remington gun .
My question is is it possible to letter remington made guns

Not really. Everything's on IBM cards and not decipherable

Certainly not as much info on the IBM cards as the Stock Books but you might be surprised at what you do find. And Chuck is pretty good at deciphering.

Towards the end of production, Remington was using up stock and parts on hand.

that's makes sense this is not vhe grade wood for sure that's a plus i plan on hunting with the gun i will just have to be a bit careful

I also have a VH 16 ga that dates to 1937 with very nice wood. For me that adds a grade level or two.
