Hi Unregistered,
On July 29th, this site will be moving..! No, really - it's "moving" to another physical location - including servers, gateways, routers - everything - including my coffee cup...
So, from the date of July 29th through July 30 or 31 (shooting for these dates, but - as always, I'm at the mercy of my ISP who has to install the lines to the new location - and we actually get them running ;) ). But - this site, cloud servers and main web will be OFF LINE.
Now, please save these dates!! Please - don't be "that guy" who emails me on the 30th to tell me you "can't open the Parker Website". I'll already know it is offline - and also know that you are "that guy"...
I'll take this notice up and down over the next week or so - and leave it up during the final few days before shutting it off on the 29th..
John D.

Buttplate blued or colored?
I bought a really decent underlever hammer Parker. Yes, thanks guys for getting me into these but man the quality of these old guns is just so outstanding! Anyway, it's been recolored, very nice job, rebrowned, very bad job, as I think it should have been redone to bring out the colors such as what Brad B did on Mark O's guns. The buttplate however was recolored also. Needless to say it's steel. Should this plate have been blued or would it have been case colored? This gun was tightened up by someone who did an outstanding job on the metal works. Just wondered about this plate. Jerry

Jerry, check TPS. Going on memory its nitre blued. I know its nitre bluing in the hammerless guns. I take it you are aware that regular DuLite bluing wouldn't replicate nitre bluing?
There are a number of us who wish that Parker would have made a hammerless underlifter action. The underlifters were cataloged with the top lever hammers until the 1900's but the market demanded top levers, so an underlifter after 1900 is rare indeed.
