Hi Unregistered,
On July 29th, this site will be moving..! No, really - it's "moving" to another physical location - including servers, gateways, routers - everything - including my coffee cup...
So, from the date of July 29th through July 30 or 31 (shooting for these dates, but - as always, I'm at the mercy of my ISP who has to install the lines to the new location - and we actually get them running ;) ). But - this site, cloud servers and main web will be OFF LINE.
Now, please save these dates!! Please - don't be "that guy" who emails me on the 30th to tell me you "can't open the Parker Website". I'll already know it is offline - and also know that you are "that guy"...
I'll take this notice up and down over the next week or so - and leave it up during the final few days before shutting it off on the 29th..
John D.

Modern VS Vintage
For what it's worth, there are no "Repro" LC Smiths. There are either originally designed American made shotguns, or as Mr. Dudley mentioned, cheaply made non-side-lock Italian knock-offs. Unless I'm mistaken, this competition is for original American made either LC Smith of Parker Brothers shotguns. Part of the challenge is getting out there and smacking targets with guns made with vintage tooling and materials. Repro or CSMC guns don't fit that bill, or do they?
Just my two cents. There's plenty of venues/contests out there for guns of modern manufacture. To date, The Parker/LC Smith Challenge Event hasn't been one of them. No rules against their use out on the course, just in the Challenge Event.
This is not to say that the rules can't be changed after consideration by both Boards, but that's pretty unlikely at this late date for this years event.
Hoping everyone a safe trip and a great weekend.
John

Southern update
Things are going well so far. Lots of camaraderie, high quality guns to see and guns changing hands.
LC Smith won both the 16 gauge and 20 Gauge events, but only by 4 and 1 points. Competition continues to be fierce.
Guns are changing hands. Some friends were negotiating a 410. I picked up a really early back action. I bought two Galazan take down cases for great prices.
Will report more later and post photos when I get home
